# What is Sumvin

> Sumvin gives your agent a verified identity and limits you sign, so it can act for you and prove it.

Sumvin is identity for agents. It lets an agent prove who it acts for, and what it has been allowed to do.

## The problem

Agents already act for people. They book, buy, reorder and reply. The service on the other side sees a request from software and has two questions it cannot answer:

* **Who is this agent acting for?** A real person, or no one at all.
* **Within what limits?** What the person allowed, how much, and until when.

Without answers, the agent is either blocked, or trusted with more than anyone meant to give it.

## What Sumvin adds

Three things, each built on the one before.

## Why it matters to you

* **You set the limits.** Your agent never decides what it is allowed to do.
* **You see every agent.** Each agent you connect has its own identity under your Sigil, and you can revoke any one of them.
* **You can stop it.** Revoke a Stamped Mandate and the agent loses that permission.

## Why it matters to whoever your agent deals with

A merchant or service receiving a request from your agent can check two facts before acting: a verified person stands behind this agent, and this request falls inside the limits that person signed.
